The successful concept of application-independent cabling is used also in industrial environments since several years, but high-speed data transmission isn‘t most important for active industrial components. Not only mechanical, but also the electrical specifications up to precedent conditions to reach industrial standard requirements.
Mechanical features for active industrial components:

Active industrial components work with operation voltage range 12 V DC .. 48 V DC, hence external power supply is neccessary. The main and redundant power connector are carried out via pluggable terminal block.
